UNITED WAY SEEKING COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR SOCK AND "UNDIE" DRIVE - Montgomery County United Way (MCUW) is seeking donations of new socks and underwear throughout the month of July, to help underprivileged children go back to school with confidence. Several years ago, Dr. Samer Faysal contacted Julie Martineau, president of MCUW to find out what he could do to help school children within the community. "At that time," states Dr. Faysal, "there were back-to-school drives for backpacks and supplies, gently used clothing and shoes, but no one was asking for underclothes." Betty Campbell , community resource coordinator for MCUW, took charge of the 'Undie' Drive in 2005, and made it part of MCUW's Days of Caring. Since that time, the Drive has helped more than 100 families. To encourage people to give generously to this campaign, Dr. Faysal (pictured here with a member of his staff), is offering one free chiropractic adjustment per adult that makes a qualifying donation. To find out more, contact Campbell at 281-292-4155, ext. 267.
