 THE WOODLANDS RECOGNIZED FOR MARKETING WITH LOCAL & STATE AWARDS - The Woodlands was recently recognized for its marketing efforts, receiving local and state marketing awards including "Community of the Year" from the Greater Houston Builder's Association (GHBA). The GHBA presented four PRISM (Professional Results in Sales and Marketing) developer category awards to executives of The Woodlands Development Company (TWDC) before more than 1,000 industry leaders at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston on April 28, 2007. TWDC was also recognized as a "Founding Sponsor" by GHBA.
In addition to the "Community of the Year" PRISM award for the best overall marketing and presentation of a large (over 2,500 developed acres), master-planned community, TWDC also received the "Humanitarian of the Year" award. This award recognizes the company's contributions through its Good Neighbors Community Partnership Program and involvement in community events. TWDC also received two "Best of Texas Bronze" awards from the Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA) for thewoodlands.com website and The Woodlands Town Center USB drive presentation. The "Unveiling of Waterway Square" media kit won a Best of Texas merit award from TPRA. Through its advertising agencies, John Manlove Marketing & Communications (JMMC) based in Pasadena, TX that handles residential advertising, and Steward Marketing , based in Spring, TX that handles commercial advertising, TWDC also won several Addy awards for excellence in marketing, advertising and promotions.

LUKE'S COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS - St. Luke's Community Medical Center (CMC) - The Woodlands (pictured) has announced the appointment of members to The Board of Directors, its recently established governing council.  THE WOODLANDS G.R.E.E.N. AWARDS THREE SCHOLARSHIPS - The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. (TWG) awarded three scholarships at $1000 each to graduating seniors from South Montgomery County in its annual Earth Day scholarship competition. According to scholarship coordinator and TWG Secretary Debra Wymore , "These applicants demonstrated an outstanding commitment to preserving our natural environment through volunteering in their extra curricular activities."
Winners included Barrett Monet Heikkila Valdes , a graduating senior at The Woodlands High School , and the first G.R.E.E.N. Ambassador;Jenna Ponzi , a senior at The Woodlands High School who offered a special volunteer commitment with a fundraising project collecting "Cans for Habitat for Humanity"; and Elizabeth Caldwell, a senior at The Woodlands College Park High School, who has volunteered with projects coordinated by her AP Environmental Science Recycling Committee at her school.  WSO CLOSES ITS 14 th SEASON & TUNES UP FOR 15 TH ANNIVERSARY - The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra (WSO) and The Woodlands Symphony Chorus closed its 14 th season with a rousing performance of "A Night at the Opera" in front of an approximate audience of 650 people, presented April 28, 2007 at the Nancy Bock Center for the Performing Arts at McCullough Junior High School . Three guest soloists including soprano Jana Ellsworth , pictured with Maestro Dagang Chen , joined the orchestra and chorus in exhilarating performances of some of opera's greatest hits.

 NEWS AT THE WOODLANDS MALL - The Woodlands Mall (pictured) will officially launch its partnership with Habitat for Humanity on Wednesday, May 16 with the debut of an eight-foot housing framework in Future Court. Donations will be collected until Sunday, May 20 and contributors may write a message on the home's boards that will be used in a Habitat for Humanity home in Montgomery County.
Beginning Monday, May 21 through Sunday, June 17, mystery fans can visit The Woodlands Mall and enjoy a sneak preview of a 3-D interactive replica of the new Nancy Drew movie's Draycott Mansion. The mini-mansion will be located in the JCPenney Court.  | -
